A TEENAGER has become Wilton the first dancer to complete a hat-trick at a national tap competition.

Rosie Howell, pictured, won first place and a silver cup at the Marjorie Davies Star Tap Awards in London on May 4 and can no longer enter the competition as she has now won each section.

Rosie won the junior section in 2011 and the Senior section in 2013, and this year she was competing against a lot of dancers older than her in the Premier section, where she impressed the adjudicators with her class work and solo dance.

The 16-year-old, who is a student at South Wilts School and has taken dance classes at Salisbury Dance Studios since she was four, was told after the event that she is the first dancer to win all three categories.

One of the adjudicators told her: “We were all unanimous in choosing you as the winner. I want your feet.”

Rosie, who is a member of the England tap team Tap Attack, is delighted with her latest achievement and hopes to pursue a career in dance after her A-levels.
