International market comes to Salisbury
A NEW international market is coming to Salisbury next week.
The city council in partnership with Market Place Europe Ltd is bringing the two-day market to the Market Place on Sunday and Monday.
The market will host more than 80 stallholders offering a variety of craft and food items from across the world and organisers promise there will be lots on offer for all ages and tastes.
There will also be a number of bars offering drinks from across the continent and a wide selection of food including Jences Paella offering freshly made Spanish Paella cooked fresh at the market, bratwurst sausages from a traditional German Schwenkgrill and exotic meats including kangaroo, wild boar and crocodile from Meats of the World.
Market Place operations manager Chris Hulley said: “Our traders shall be offering Salisbury an exciting selection of flavours from all across the globe offering something for the whole family. It shall definitely be the place to be this May.”
Dutch Flowers on Tour will be brightening up the market with an array of plants, shrubs and bulbs.
Castenda will bring Native American knitwear, jewellery and dream catchers, and G and G Global Gift Collection will be offering a range of hand carved wooden figurines which are all Fair Trade and ecologically sourced.
There will also be entertainment over the two days including a number of cars from across the world on display.
On the Sunday as part of the International Arts Festival there will be two performances from Shaun Parker’s C12 Company with a piece called Trolleys.
There will be free parking in Culver Street Car Park on the Sunday and the market will be open from 10am to 6pm on both days. For full details salisburycitycouncil.gov.uk.
