A RECORD number of walkers enjoyed perfect weather for the sixth annual Salisbury Hospice Midnight Walk on Saturday.
Music from local band Casa de Samba got the party started before the 500 walkers set off at the new earlier start time of 10.30pm to make their way around the city, taking in the Cathedral Close with the cathedral specially lit for the occasion.
Sue Turnbull from the hospice said: “We really could not hold this event without the incredible local support we are given.
“The walkers and the people who sponsor them are incredible but the event is also supported by local businesses whose generosity ensures that every penny our walkers raise goes to Salisbury Hospice Charity.”
Money from the event is starting to come in and the charity is hoping it will raise more £40,000 to support the vital work done by the hospice.
