A YOUNG performer from Salisbury has been singing, dancing and acting with West End stars.
Elena-Jane Taylor, 15, took part in an eight-day course run by Connie Fisher, winner of BBC’s How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria.
The tutor list also included West End stars Kirk Jameson and Caroline Sheen, as well as dance teacher Christian Bullen and pianist David Doidge.
“I was surprised they were particularly impressed by my dancing and I was nicknamed twinkle toes,” said Elena-Jane.
The students, aged between 15 and 29, were given daily body conditioning and dance, vocal and drama classes.
The repertoire came from Matilda, Mary Poppins, Candide and Kiss Me Kate, and the final showcase was attended by some industry professionals.
As a result of the course, Elena-Jane has been asked to join the pre-professional musical theatre course which is run by Fisher every Saturday.
But before that, she will be working with Youth Music Theatre UK, which is one of two national youth music theatre organisations.
Some of their past members include Jude Law, Eddie Redmayne, Matt Lucas, Zoe Wannamaker and Sheridan Smith.
“An unforgettable week with many new and influential friends made,” said Elena-Jane.
