THE forest is packed with fun activities and events for all the family this half term holiday.

Family events throughout half term week include:

May 27: Run River Run 10.30am to noon, £3 suggested donation, Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve.

Bring your wellies for a splash in Dockens Water and discover the fish and other wildlife that live there. Nets are supplied and experts will be on hand to help you have plenty of family freshwater fun. May 28: Wild Wednesdays, 10am to 4pm, car parking donation only, New Forest Reptile Centre.

Join the National Park rangers for a day of family activities at the Date with Nature project. Learn about birds of prey in the New Forest and see the action unfold on a live nest-cam. Afterwards walk round the Reptile Centre to see if you can spot natterjack toads, adders and more. This is a joint project between the New Forest National Park Authority, Hampshire County Council and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. Visit newforestnpa.gov.uk/dwn.

May 28: Transport through the Ages activity day 10.30am-1pm and 2pm to 4.30pm, free entry, New Forest Centre.

May 30: Nosey nature nerds 11am to 2pm, £5 per person, National Trust Foxbury.

Put your nature detection skills to the test and see what you can discover with the National Trust rangers.
