A PROGRAMME of practical and emotional support, helping people in Salisbury come to terms with sight loss, is being held at the Education Centre at Salisbury District Hospital on Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
The free two-day Finding Your Feet course, run by Action for Blind People, is designed to support visually impaired people of all ages, in overcoming fear of isolation and helping them adjust. Participants will share experiences, supporting each other in regaining confidence and independence.
The course will include specialised workshops, delivered by expert facilitators who have either a personal experience or a professional understanding of visual impairment.
The programme also recognises that partners and friends are affected by the issues of sight loss and they are encouraged to attend as well.
