MORE than 340 young runners took part in the annual mini marathon at Avon Valley College on Saturday.
Children from schools in the Salisbury, Pewsey and Malborough areas took part in a number of races after a warm up led by Lifestyle Fitness.
The Year 7 girls’ winner was Amelia Banfield from St Edmund’s School in Salisbury and the Year 7 boys’ winner was Harrison McCann from Avon Valley College in Durrington.
The Year 8 girls’ winner was Rebecca Service from St Edmund’s and the Year 8 boys’ winner was Finlay Lloyd-Gilmour from Stonehenge School in Amesbury.
There was also a key stage 1 fun run which saw more than 100 pupils and their parents take part.
Collette Harries from Avon Valley College said: “It was a very successful day with more than 340 pupils taking part. We had some great races, the weather was lovely and the crowd was amazing.”
