CYCLING campaign group COGS has donated three tricycles to the John McNeill Opportunity Centre in Salisbury.
The trikes will enable children with learning difficulties to develop new skills while having fun. Dr Jimmy Walker, chairman of COGS, said: “COGS recognises the pleasure and benefit which all ages can get from moving about on two or three wheels under their own steam. We hope the children helped by the John McNeill Centre get as much fun on their new trikes as we in COGS have on our bicycles.”
Centre manager Angela Bryant added: “With the current cut backs in funding which we have experienced our efforts are focused on fundraising to cover our essential staffing and running costs and it is difficult to find funding to provide new equipment. We are therefore extremely grateful when groups like COGS come forward with offers of support such as this and we know the children will really benefit from their new tricycles.”
