A FUN dog show is being held at the Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre to raise pounds for hounds.

The Newton Tony centre is welcoming furry friends and their owners to a fun-filled summer fete as part of Festival of Fidos on Sunday from 11am.

There will be stalls and a fun dog show with classes including most handsome dog, best sausage catcher and best six legs.

Jacinta Browne, Dogs Trust Salisbury centre manager, said: “The open day is packed with over 70 interesting stalls and fulfilled activities for your family to enjoy, both two legged and four, including make your own dog toy and Bonio and biscuit decorating. All funds raised on the day will go towards the care and upkeep of stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs that regularly come into the rehoming centre.”

The event is also a chance to meet some of the dogs at the centre looking for new homes.

Entrance is £2.50 for adults, £1 concessions, and children, dogs and car parking are free.
