MORE than 1,000 people went along to a multicultural event held in Salisbury on Saturday.
The Guildhall came alive for the Unity, Unison and Harmony event, which saw 22 displays from multi-ethnic groups living and working across the city.
There was a range of food as well as entertainment from Salisbury District Hospital’s new staff choir along with Indian dancers, Gambian drummers, Morris dancing and a yoga demonstration.
Community workshops were run in the lead up to the event by local artists who taught participants how to make their own dance costumes and create Batik display flags and stone carvings.
The project was created and organised by local charity Circular Arts in partnership with Salisbury Coalition Against Racism (SCAR) and funded by Aster Communities, Salisbury Area Board and Salisbury City Council.
