POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Alderbury.

The incident took place at about 1.55am on Sunday, June 1 at Alderbury Post Office and Stores, Southampton Road.

Two men got into the building by smashing a glass panelled front door and stole cigarette and tobacco products.

They were then seen running off in the direction of Whaddon Business Park.

At about 3.28am on the same morning, one man returned to the Post Office and stole the remaining cigarette and tobacco products.

The total value of the stolen goods is estimated at about £1,200.

One of the men is described as wearing a distinctive hooded top with the slogan Little Minx and the number '3' printed on the rear. He was also wearing a patterned beanie hat.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with this incident.
