Military Wives to sing at Albert Hall

THREE members of Salisbury Plain Military Wives Choir have been chosen to join BBC choirmaster Gareth Malone at a special Prom to be held at the Royal Albert Hall to commemorate the First World War.

The sell-out concert, which is part of the BBC’s annual Proms series, will take place on Sunday, August 3, the eve of the 100th anniversary of the day Britain entered the war, and joining the chorus will be Antonella Duncan, Mairead Smith and Lucy McFarlane.

In a first for the BBC Proms, the choir will also be joined by life-size puppets from the National Theatre’s production of Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse.

The 100 strong Proms Military Wives Choi’ will be directed by Malone and made up of singers from 42 different choirs in the Military Wives Choirs Foundation network.
