PRIZES are on offer for rural businesses from the Wessex region who complete a survey.
Prizes include locally grown flowers from Common Farm Flowers in Charlton Musgrove to the value of £55, a £50 dining voucher for The Ship at West Stour, sausages and bacon from the Ginger Piggery, a selection of ales from Sixpenny Brewery and coffee and cake at Divine Wines in Wincanton.
The Heart of Wessex Local Action Group is working with local communities and businesses to ascertain local issues and priorities. These will then be used to help write a bid for funding. Heart of Wessex particularly welcomes new innovations and collaborative projects, and is inviting people to call if they have a business development or community project idea that could benefit from European funding.
They would particularly like to hear from people involved in farming, small businesses in rural areas, producing or selling locally produced food and tourism attractions or holiday accommodation.
They would also like to hear from people providing community services or facilities in a rural setting, or who promote low-carbon, energy efficiency or climate resilience or who work in restoring, preserving and enhancing eco systems dependent upon agriculture and forestry.
