PUPILS at South Wilts School in Salisbury celebrated all things Shakespearean in a two-day festival.
The Year 8 girls marked the 450th anniversary of the Bard’s birth with singing, dancing and acting workshops, writing sonnets, making masks and creating artwork.
On the second day they put on a production of Romeo and Juliet for parents and the history department created a Tudor street with street sellers and entertainers to greet guests as they came in.
Jane Coundley from the school said: “The whole year group was involved one way or another, more than 120 girls, and it was fantastic. The performance was our adaptation of Romeo and Juliet with singing and dancing. It was really excellent and the parents liked it a lot.”
