WILTON’S second Big Lunch, a charity picnic in aid of the Trussell Trust foodbank, proved to be a great success.
The event was held at Wilton Shopping Village on Sunday, July 6 with entertainment from Wilton Christian Fellowship and the Baptist Church Band, Murphy’s Lore, East of Avon, Local Vocals, and Wilton Royal British Legion Band.
Attendees brought their own picnics, and donated 179kgs of food to the charity.
Louise Wratten, from the Trussell Trust, said: “We were absolutely delighted with the response from Wilton, and we thank everyone for putting on the Big Lunch for us, and the generous people of the town. We collected enough food to feed 20 families as well as a good cash collection.”
