THIS year’s Plaitford Village Fete was bigger and better than ever.
The sun shone for the event on July 13, which saw £2,026 raised for the Plaitford Village Hall Refurbishment Fund.
Hundreds of people enjoyed a display by The Forest School of Dance, live music from Rustic Road, stalls and refreshments.
The village hall committee aims to completely refurbish the hall with enhanced facilities.
Quotations are being sought and the cost of the work is estimated to be about £75,000.
The majority will be funded by grants, with the balance coming from fundraising events such as the fete.
Upcoming fundraisers include a wedding fair on September 28, a jumble sale and dog show on October 5 and a Christmas fair on November 2.
