AN unprecedented number of visitors poured into Woodgreen Village Hall for the Woodgreen and Hale Horticultural Society annual show.

Show secretary Jim Madge said 126 people came through the door to see the 330 entries, whereas just 50 came to the show two years ago, and about 75 last year.

About 50 people entered the show, plus 50 children’s exhibits, and there was a particularly strong showing in the flower arrangements, with 15 exhibits compared to the usual four or five.

Mr Madge said: “It was an excellent show in every way.

“There was an encouraging number of new prizewinners.”
