Woman dies after lorry hits her broken down car
A WOMAN has died after her broken down car was hit by an articulated lorry on the A303 at Mere.
The lorry hit a broken down Mazda MX5 in the eastbound carriageway on Mere bypass at just before 1pm on Sunday.
A 54-year-old woman from Wiltshire was treated at the scene but died from her injuries.
The lorry driver, a 51-year-old man from Devon, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed.
The eastbound carriageway was closed for more than eight hours.
Witnesses are asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101.
