A SALISBURY-based insurance broker has been rebranded.

The business, formerly called Phillips Insurance, which is based in Brown Street and has been in the city for more than 30 years, has been rebranded as Sorvio Insurance Brokers.

It provides a range of commercial insurance products to organisations, businesses, individuals and associations.

Directors Paul Hodgkinson and Ian Spalding, who took over in 2009, have been working on renaming and rebranding the business over the last few months.

This included a client survey which found their business was valued for a personal service with technical expertise and being easy to deal with.

Mr Hodgkinson said: “All the things we thought were important, our clients did as well.

“It was good to get their views which were very, very positive.”

And Mr Spalding added: “We are here for the long-term.

“We want to grow the business and we want clients that want a relationship rather than just feeling that they are handing money over.”

Sorvio comes from the Roman name Sorviodunum, the earliest settlement which became Salisbury.

Mr Spalding said: “The name has been well received, it seems to be popular.

“We wanted something with local connections and we ended up going right back in time.

“Although it's got old roots it sounds quite modern.”
