EMERGENCY services dealt with a two-vehicle crash on the A338 near Fordingbridge on Monday morning.

And elderly man and woman had to be cut free from their Volkswagen Polo after the collision with a Toyota Land Cruiser.

The crash happened just after 8.30am, near North Gorley, close to the New Forest Water Park, closing the road in both directions. The road has since been re-opened. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was called into action but the pair were taken to Salisbury District Hospital by road ambulance, suffering from minor injuries.

Crews from Hampshire Fire and Rescue were called to the scene to extricate the couple from the Polo.

Emergency services were called at 8.44am.
