PITTON Social Club is organising an outing to see the matinee performance of Calamity Jane at the Watermill Theatre in Newbury on August 14.

Tickets cost £34 per person, to include a buffet lunch, and the coach will leave outside the church at 11.15am.

MERE Parish Council is looking for businesses or members of the public to sponsor a flower tub in the town.

The cost of planting each of the 14 tubs is £40 a year.

The cost is £2 per session, with no competition or commitment, and the first one is free.

TISBURY History Society received a grant of £759 from South West Wiltshire Area Board to commemorate the First World War.

The society is running a project to publish a small book about Tisbury and the war which  will be given to each primary school child in the village, as well as being made available to buy locally.
PEOPLE are being invited to take up their bow and arrow and join a merry band of men at Wardour Castle as they weave tales of Robin Hood. Participants can hear stories of daring deeds and find out what it takes to join the woodland gang with tests of skill and cunning.
The event takes place from 11am to 5pm next Wednesday and Thursday, and again at the same times on the following Wednesday and Thursday.
MERE Carnival royals have been crowned, ahead of the event on September 13.
Emily Sams is princess, Kedis Boughen is prince, Hannah Stone, Katie Sams and Hattie Wathan are attendants, and Josephine Avery is ‘supergran’.
