A POLICE officer from Salisbury braved the torrential rain on Sunday to take part in a cycle challenge to raise money for child victims of crime.
PC Tim Bunt, pictured, community beat manager for Ludgershall, took part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 at the weekend.
The route started in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and followed a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s countryside.
PC Bunt helped raise more than £12,000 for Embrace Child Victims of Crime, along with other riders in Team Embrace.
He is also aiming to raise more money for the charity, taking on a 180-mile cycle ride to Cornwall next month, which he hopes to complete in 12 hours.
Chloe Swift, fundraising and marketing manager for the charity, said: “Sunday’s RideLondon event was incredible, despite the hazardous weather.
“Tim and the other members of our team battled the floods and strong crosswinds to reach the finish and, in doing so, raised a fantastic amount of money which will help many children in Wiltshire and across the UK.”
