POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager was assaulted near Solstice Park on Sunday.

The 17-year-old girl was in a lay-by opposite Mills Way Industrial Estate at about 11pm when a man got out of a burgundy coloured car and assaulted the girl, pushing her to the ground before getting back in the car and driving off.

He is aged 18 to 25 and was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms. The car is believed to be a Peugeot 306, a Citroen Saxo or something similar.

DC Michelle Hilton from Salisbury CID said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area between 10pm – midnight and may have seen the vehicle in the lay-by or saw the incident taking place. The incident occurred not far from McDonalds, so perhaps someone had been to get some food and may have seen something that would assist us in this investigation.”

Anyone with information can call DC Hilton on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
