BREAMORE Horticulture Society started its birthday celebrations last week by hosting a flower show for everyone to enter.
The society has reached the grand age of 101 and decided to hold a friendly competition to celebrate reaching the milestone.
There were entries from many local schools and competitors spent weeks preparing for the event. Classes included flowers, fruit, vegetables, jam and cake.
The winners were Les Manwaring in the Hulse Open Perpetual Challenge Cup and Terry Mouland in the Johnstone Perpetual Challenge Cup.Christine Scharer triumphed in the Ernest Ponting Memorial Challenge Cup and Tony Ashford in the Briscoe Cup.
Honorary secretary Vanessa Gilbert said: “Wonderful enthusiasm from exhibitors on Friday evening and early Saturday morning filled the hall with joyful colours and textures of summer produce and much creativity.”
