THE number of complaints about Wiltshire Police has increased by almost a third in the last year according to the Police and Crime Commissioner’s crime report update.
Angus Macpherson’s report says complaints rose “significantly” from 228 to 299 per 1,000 employees from 2012/13 to 2013/14. This included 119 complaints relating to incivility, impoliteness or intolerance. Mr Macpherson has responded by setting what he calls a “challenging threshold” of 250 complaints per 1,000 employees for the current year.
The report says the average time to resolve complaints locally was 48 days, which is below the target of 52.
