A PIONEERING mobile Sight Loss Information Service (SLIS) packed with the latest aids, equipment and specialist advice for blind and partially-sighted people, is visiting Salisbury this month.
The service, run by national charity Action for Blind People, will open its doors to people interested in or affected by visual impairment.
Staff on the unit offer impartial, practical advice and support on some of the latest hi-tech equipment on the market from vibrating bank note detectors to talking microwaves and tin lids.
Sally Riley, from Action for Blind People's Sight Loss Information Service said, "Everybody is welcome to come along to visit us whether you are visually impaired or know somebody who may be having problems with their sight, You can check out the service on September 23 and 24, 10am to 4pm at the war memorial in Market Place and on September 25 between 10am to 4pm main car park at Wilton Shopping Village, Minster Street entrance.
