A POSH picnic held in Mere has raised more than £800 for Cancer Research UK. The event was hosted by Sandra and Gerry Rose at Chetcombe House and was officially opened by Andrew Murrison MP.
More than 100 people took along picnics and enjoyed Rat Pack-style music from Frankie Roma.
Sarah Collins said: “The committee are delighted and we hope to have raised in excess of £800. We will definitely be hosting a similar event next year.”
Cancer Research UK Mere branch’s next big fundraising event is a Christmas fair on December 5 in the Square, which will include the town’s lights switch on.
