FORDINGBRIDGE-based Hyde Band, right, will be joined by guest soprano soloist Elizabeth Ferrie for an evening of traditional proms music, flag waving and audience participation.

The band will be conducted by their new musical director and compère Jonathan Camps.

Mr Camps previously conducted many local bands including Ocean Brass, Bournemouth Concert Brass, Woodfalls, and St Breward, Bodmin Town and Bugle in his home county of Cornwall. Between 2005 and 2008, he was musical director for Hyde, leading the band to become West of England 1st Section Champions in 2007, and achieving eighth place at the National Finals in Harrogate the same year.

The concert, to raise funds to equip the newly-built Hyde Church Community centre, will be held indoors at Forres Sandle Manor School, Fordingbridge, on Saturday, September 27 at 7pm for 7.30pm.
