A LOCAL band will reform for one night only on Saturday, October 11 in memory of a teenager from Salisbury who recently died from cystic fibrosis.

Jake Allen was only 19 years old when he lost his battle with the condition and now his step-father, Lee Steele, wants to create a special night in his memory at the Chapel nightclub by reforming the band Junk DNA to headline the event.

He said: “They are well known in Salisbury over the years and they have performed many sold out gigs in the city hall.

“I used to manage them and when Jake was younger he featured on one of their singles.”

Mr Steele is hoping to raise money for Southampton C4 who are a specialist unit at Southampton General Hospital who care for people with cystic fibrosis.

He added: “Jake spent lots of time at the hospital and they try to make it as comfortable as possible for patients.”

The night will also feature music from a diverse mixture of bands all from all genres that were enjoyed by Jake.

He continued: “Cystic fibrosis is a terrible illness and most of the people that have it will only live to about the age of 25.

“But even with cystic fibrosis Jake still managed to achieve a black belt in Taekwondo and despite his terminal illness he was loved by many.”

The show starts at 7.30pm at the Chapel Nightclub with tickets costing £4 in advance or £5 on the door.
