A WALKING initiative started three years ago has welcomed its 1,000th member.
Get Wiltshire Walking was created in 2011 by Wiltshire Council with the help of Big Lottery funding.
It is led by a team of 80 volunteers who arrange walks throughout the county.
A special event in Salisbury brought together Get Wiltshire Walking participants to take part in two guided walks.
It was also a chance to say ‘thank you’ to the volunteers who provide regular, enjoyable walks and were awarded a handmade Get Wiltshire Walking pot.
New walks will start in Shrewton in October.
