SPECTACULAR floats entertained a packed crowd in Ringwood on Saturday for the town’s popular carnival.
Hundreds of people filled the streets to see hosts of floats, marching bands and local organisations take part in the annual event.
The main afternoon procession featured the Dorset Youth Marching Band, Wessex Military Band, the Dolphin Marching Band and The Spitfires Marching Band.
Also making their way through the centre were Elvis look-alikes, The Great British Bake Off and Del Boy, Rodney and Uncle Albert from Only Fools and Horses.
This year’s carnival queen was 16-year-old Isabella Rix, with Becky D’Arcy and Mabel Collins as her attendants.
Other attractions included street entertainers, fire performers, stilt walkers, circus skills workshops and a variety of live music acts.
Vice chairman of the carnival committee Michael Lingam-Willgoss said: “Ringwood Carnival really brings people together.
“The first Ringwood Carnival was held in 1929, with the event held every year since 1950.”
The town’s takeaways, pubs and restaurants reported a brisk trade, and there was also music, refreshments and local trade stands for people to enjoy.
