A FISHERMAN from Ringwood is hoping to reel in thousands of readers after penning a second book – A Keepnet Full of Dreams.

Kevin Grozier’s new book is now on sale after a book launch and signing at The Fish Inn on Saturday, October 11.

Kevin picked up his first rod – made from a First World War tank aerial he bought for five shillings – at the tender age of nine with his school chum Brian Stephens.

And a love of the rivers and waterways was cast.

A Keepnet Full of Dreams follows his first book, Avon Days and Stour Ways, but Kevin has issued a strong message through the stories that are included.

He said: “I had some material left over from my first book, which I wrote five years ago, but there wasn’t enough to use for a second.

“Over the years I have increasingly had a bee in my bonnet about the abstraction of water from our chalk reservoirs. I wanted to put my thoughts on paper.

“The sad fact is that the more we suck water out of the ground the more our rivers will shrink.

“I feel that we are squandering the future generations the entitlement of a lovely landscape and I think the problem is that most people cannot see outside of a single life span.”

Kevin has combined his love of the river with his love of the written word.

A Keepnet Full of Dreams can be purchased in hardback or there are 60 collectors’ additions in a deluxe leather-bound case from keepnetfullofdreams.com.
