A GROUP of parents have raised money for Salisbury District Hospital by auctioning off unwanted children and baby items on a virtual garage sale website.
One mum, Rosie Burgess, who belongs to the Truly Scrumptious group, said: “We had an opportunity to use the site to generate some money for a good cause.
“Due to the nature of what we are about, we contacted Sarum Ward at the hospital, and they told us that they needed some child-safe thermal mugs for the parents and visitors to the unit.
“We therefore started selling various generously-donated items and auctioning them on the site.”
Over a few months the group made enough money to buy 37 mugs, which were then delivered to the hospital.
