Chance to see record-breaking attempt of matchstick model making
SALISBURY’S matchstick man Barry King will be at the Cross Keys Shopping Centre this weekend, working on his model of Salisbury Cathedral and raising money for the Stars Appeal Breast Cancer Unit Campaign.
Barry, who is making the model entirely out of matchsticks, is aiming to break the Guinness world record for the biggest matchstick model.
From now until Christmas he will be working on the model at the shopping centre on the first floor on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 6pm, and on Sundays from 10am to 4.30pm, for members of the public to see the work of art.
He estimates it will take around 13 years to complete.
