Face from the A Team. He was just a cool bloke.

What is your most precious possession and why is it important to you?

My photo albums, they’re the mirror of my life and I have fantastic memories associated with them.

What is your pet hate?

Smoking.

If you could change one thing about the place where you live, what would it be?

A local shop, we need one in Old Sarum!

What are you reading at the moment?

Memoirs of a Fruit Cake by Chris Evans, it’s brilliant.

Is there anything you are superstitious about?

I always salute a single magpie.

If you were choosing a last meal, what would it be?

Liver and onions with mash and gravy.

If you had one wish what would it be?

That England lift the Rugby World Cup next year.

Is there a place in the world you would like to visit above all others?

Ko Samui, Thailand is pretty special.

If you could meet anyone from history, who would it be?

Bob Monkhouse, I thought his sense of humour was brilliant.

If you had a time machine where would it take you?

Back to Euro 96, the atmosphere in England was electric.

If you owned a company what kind of company would it be?

A leadership consultancy, how to get the best out of people in the workplace.

What would never leave home without?

My house key. Emma goes nuts if I come in late and I wake her up to let me in!

What sports team do you support?

Rugby, I support Bath and football, I support Tottenham.

If you could make or change any law, what would it be?

Drink-driving – there should be a zero tolerance on it – if you have just one alcoholic drink you shouldn’t drive.

What was your first job?

Delivering the Avon Advertiser on Coombe Road.

If you could take over someone’s job for the day, whose would you pick?

I’d like to be the PM, I think it would be a real eye opener the pressures he has to endure doing the job he does.

What worries you the most?

That my daughter Matilda ends up supporting Arsenal or Gloucester RFC.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

The true solider doesn’t fight because he hates what’s in front of him but because he loves what’s behind him.

Is it ever acceptable to break the law?

There are so many levels that that can be interpreted.

How did you meet your significant other?

We’ve known each other from school, about seven years ago she caught me off guard and we’ve been together ever since.

Take That.

What has been your proudest moment?

Winning the army major unit’s rugby cup. I was really privileged to have been part of such a great team. Friends for life.
