THE band was proud to lead the Standards of The Royal British Legion at Salisbury’s Carnival on October 24.

Last weekend, members of bands from across the UK participated in acts of Remembrance organised by The Royal British Legion.

Our band led Salisbury’s Remembrance Parade conducted by Roger Allsopp.

Last Post was played by Robert West who joined us to play Nimrod, Handel’s Largo, the hymns and National Anthem.

A small contingent of members then went on to Warminster to help out with their parade.

Our quartet played for a Last Post event at Milford House Care Home on Friday and the following day the quintet played at Salisbury Playhouse whilst patrons were arriving to see the travelling theatre production ‘Do we do the right thing?’ The band will be playing for the closing event at St Thomas’s Christmas Tree Festival on Sunday, December 7 at 4pm.

In addition smaller ensembles will be playing at the Christmas Market once again.

If you would like to find out when and where the band will be playing, please visit salisburycityband.org.uk or the Music in Salisbury website.

Please note the revised timing for the Christmas Tree Festival concert.

If you or anyone you know is interested in joining us or helping with non-musical roles please ring 01722 331163 or email info@salisburycityband.org.uk.

Rehearsals are at Britford Memorial Hall on the first and third Thursdays of each month.

We will also welcome drummers who are able to lead short marches, including Salisbury’s Remembrance parade and carnival.
