A PORTON couple got the festive season well under way during their annual Christmas lights switch-on.
Joy and Bill Salter, of Southbourne Close, were joined by around 30 people who came along to see the couple’s home burst into colour.
This is thought to be the ninth year they have decked their home with Christmas decorations to boost funds for Salisbury Hospice.
“A great time was had by all as always,” said Joy.
Guests enjoyed hot dogs, gluhwein, and plenty of mince pies during the event.
So far more than £57 has been raised for Salisbury Hospice and the couple would welcome more donations. A special postbox is located outside their home for donations.
Last year, more than £300 was raised for the charity.
Joy and Bill have thanked everyone who supported the event and donated money to the hospice.
Visitors can see the impressive lights display from 5pm to 8pm every night until the first weekend after New Year.
