PRINCESS Anne, The Princess Royal today (Friday) visited soldiers of Bulford-based 3rd Signal Regiment Royal Signals to see the final stages of the Kiwi Trophy military competition.
The Princess, who is Colonel in Chief of the Royal Corps of Signals, flew into Beacon Hill by helicopter and was greeted by the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Sarah Troughton.
She then went onto the Kiwi Memorial where she was met by the Master of Signals, Major General Nick Pope and the New Zealand Defence Attaché Brigadier Lofty.
She was briefed about the event and then moved to the finishing line to see the final teams complete the competition.
Over three days some 300 soldiers from the regiment have taken part in an arduous 22 km march around the training area finishing at the top of Beacon Hill by the Kiwi where the last competitors were watched running up the slope to the finishing line by their Royal visitor.
Later the Princess Royal presented prizes to individual category winners and the winning squadron.
