AT the recent Kiwi Trophy competition, watched by the Princess Royal and held alongside the chalk Kiwi at Beacon Hill, there were many other Kiwis on parade.

3 Signal Regiment has had a new tactical recognition flash (the regimental insignia that is worn on their combat uniform), which uses the Kiwi, in recognition of the long association with Bulford and the chalk Kiwi emblem.

I did not notice it at first because, at a quick glance, it closely resembles the red and black 3rd Division emblem that the regiment wore when they were known as 3 Division Headquarters and Signal Regiment.

Well done, a great design full of history.
