THE people of Salisbury dug deep over the Christmas period donating over £2,000 towards Support Adoption For Pets’ nationwide Santa Paws Christmas Appeal.
The fundraising initiative, aims to provide valuable financial support to local shelters and raise awareness of homeless animals.
Running from December 1 to 24, pet owners and animal lovers were asked to donate 50p to pay for a pet’s Christmas dinner.
Customers in store also had the option of buying an extra toy or treat while shopping, which was donated to local animal rescues.
Amy Wilson, charity manager at Support Adoption For Pets, said: “We’d like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to all of the generous customers and colleagues at Pets at Home in Salisbury, without their help we wouldn’t have been able to raise such a fantastic amount.
The money raised will enable Salisbury & District Cats Protection to continue the valuable work they do in the area in finding loving homes for pets.”
