A BOOT camp leader is raising funds to help pay for nursery for the son of a friend with leukaemia.

Fitness guru Angela Ross donned her trainers to help raise money to allow Stacey Webb's little boy Louie to stay in nursery while she undergoes treatment at Salisbury District Hospital for acute myeloid leukaemia and myelodysplastic syndrome.

Angela who runs Physique Boot Camp – a ladies only fitness camp – organised a fundraising boot camp when she heard that the Stacey was struggling to pay for Louie’s nursery fees.

Stacey and her partner Liam are desperate to keep some form of normality for their two-year-old son Louie while she is in and out of hospital for treatment.

They applied for funding to receive 15 hours free nursery placement but were turned down and cannot afford make the nursery fees themselves.

“It was heartbreaking to hear Stacey's story so I decided to organise a fundraising boot camp to help keep little Louie in nursery so that Stacey could focus all her energy on her recovery,” Angela said.

The boot camp event took place on Sunday, January 18 at Amesbury Recreation Ground, with 20 people taking part as well as a crowd of supporters all there for Stacey and her family.

She added: “This was the very first event to raise funds for the family and I'm overjoyed that we raised £600 from this day alone.”

Physique Boot Camp will be running a second boot camp fundraiser for Stacey in March.
