OUR very own world champion darts player Scott Mitchell has made a movie alongside Johnny Depp, Billy Bob Thornton and Amber Heard.

The newly-crowned BDO world darts champion, who lives in Ripley near Ringwood, has been involved in the filming of London Fields to offer expert advice alongside to the stars.

And Scott, who beat Martin Adams to the BDO title, told the Forest Journal that he is the body double of Jim Sturgess, who plays Keith Talent in the film that is due to be released later this year.

If that isn’t enough for the farmer’s son, he will be appearing on the BBC1 show Countryfile in the next two weeks and has been on the airwaves on Radio Sport in the United States.

“Life has been a whirlwind,” laughed Scott.

“It has been a bit weird. Everyone wants a piece of me. I am just a farm boy. I haven’t even been able to get back to work yet.”

Scott told the Journal how he taught Depp to hit a bullseye, played with Billy Bob Thornton and how Amber Heard was happy to pose for photos with him when he met with them in London.

“I met Johnny Depp to teach him how to throw darts. I was so jealous of him. It was his first time playing darts and he missed once and hit 25 twice.

“What he learnt in 20 seconds has taken me 20 years. His hand to eye co-ordination is very good.

“Depp saw my shirt and said that he loved what the wardrobe people had done. He laughed so hard when I told him that my black shirt with the pink Scotty dog on it is my own design and the shirt I wear when I competing in tournaments.

“I played in tangent with Billy Bob Thornton and we took turns to throw the darts around the board.

“It was strange as this was the first time I have ever been to London properly.

“I went once when I was about eight, but because I was a bit of a naughty boy, I had to stay in the coach outside St Paul’s Cathedral.

“I vowed never to go there again and haven’t until I was asked to appear in the film.

“I understand what people mean when they say rat race now.”

The landscape gardener won £100,000 prize money after claiming his first ever BDO world title – with a thrilling 7-6 win – over three-time winner Martin Adams.

He now plans to spend the cash on upgrading the tractors on his family farm.
