FORDINGBRIDGE firefighters with a head for heights raised more than £2,600 for the Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital.
The crew members took part in a fundraising ladder climbing challenge in December to scale the equivalent height of Mount Everest – 8,848 metres.
It took the firefighters 645 climbs of the ladder to complete the challenge, which they completed in four hours, 57 minutes and 25 seconds.
A cheque was presented last week to the ward, where the son of one of the Fordingbridge firefighters is undergoing treatment.
