A TEENAGER from Winterbourne Earls who received a double lung transplant in October visited Pembroke Park Primary School to chat to pupils about her experience.
Jessica Paddock, 14, was at the final stage of cystic fibrosis when she had the life-changing operation at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Pembroke Park School deputy headteacher Yasmine Johnston said: “Jessica gave a presentation to my Year 6 class who were thrilled she had come to visit. They discussed the tough subject of organ donation and Jessica explained how the decision made by a donor and their family had saved her life.
“The pupils had the opportunity to ask Jessica a range of questions, which were answered honestly, sensitively and openly.
“It was a very thought-provoking session which made us all realise how very lucky we are and we shouldn't take the little things in life for granted.”
