CHILDREN and young people who love to perform are being sought for a special production by Studio Theatre.

The theatre in Ashley Road, will be performing Lark Rise at Breamore this summer, and is holding auditions next Sunday (March 29) at 3pm.

Originally a trilogy of books by Flora Thompson, Lark Rise was adapted by Keith Dewhurst for the National Theatre.

Director Tamsin Jacson said: “It is a gentle play that charts the course of the first day of harvest in an Oxfordshire village in the 1880s.

“The focus of the story is on the Timms family - the troubled relationship of the parents and the two children’s daily lives.

“We are searching for several children and other young people to come and join the show.

“While rehearsals will be predominantly in evenings and at weekends at Studio Theatre in Ashley Road, Salisbury, the performances will take place in Breamore so people will need to be able to get there.”

Traditional folk songs and music are an integral part of the action so an ability to play an instrument or sing will be an advantage.

Anyone interested is being asked to attend auditions next Sunday at 3pm.

Lark Rise will be performed in Breamore from July 13 to July 18.
