A FAMILY fundraising day with scores of activities raised £650 for a Salisbury mother recovering from cancer for the second time.

From a bouncy castle to face painting and a football tournament, people supported the event at Laverstock and Ford Sports Club in aid of Stacey Webb.

The day ran in conjunction with the Facebook-launched campaign, Let’s help Stacey kick cancer’s butt, to help Stacey and her family while she recovers from acute myeloid leukaemia.

It was one of many events organised since Stacey had her bone marrow transplant at Southampton General Hospital.

Organiser Jenny Fowler, who is Stacey’s sister-in-law, said: “Saturday was a huge success in raising awareness around leukaemia and there was the facility for people to become donors on the spot, and 30 people signed up on the day!

“We would like to thank Laverstock and Ford Sports Club for supporting the event and providing food and drink throughout the day, and Luke Ford for organising the football tournament as well as everyone else who made the day run as smoothly as possible.”
