THERE will be a rare opportunity to visit some outstanding private gardens as part of an initiative to raise funds for Freedom from Torture on May 17th.

The ‘Salisbury Open Gardens’ will be situated in the Mill Lane, Fisherton Island and Water Lane area as well as unusually offering access to St Clements Church Yard. Refreshments are available as well as the opportunity to purchase plants in some gardens.

Entry is by programme only available from Sarum Books, Sarum College Bookshop, The Tourist Information Centre and on the Day from all the open Gardens which will be clearly marked.

Robina Hattersley, who has organised the event commented: “Besides the variety of Gardens, seven of them riverside gardens, and they range from quite small to nearly an acre.

"I believe having St Clements churchyard open to the public, will be a terrific draw, especially with Becky Twigg explaining the wildlife project she is setting up there.”
