VERWOOD residents are being reminded to “never” leave cooking unattended.
This warning comes after firefighters were called to a property fire in Dewlands Way on Sunday.
Crews from Verwood and Ferndown fire stations attended the incident after 2.50pm.
A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire was located in the kitchen of a first floor flat. It was extinguished by removal of unattended cooking to the outside. There was slight smoke damage to the entire flat.
“The fire safety message is never leave cooking unattended.”
