POLICE dogs were hunting a burglar in the cathedral close on Tuesday night.
Officers were called at approximately 8.45pm to reports an alarm had been activated at the works department at Salisbury Cathedral.
A man had been seen climbing over the main gate into the Cathedral Close.
The man was followed on CCTV and stopped between Bridge Street and Crane Street.
A bunch of keys and a small amount of cash were stolen and located nearby.
The man, a 36-year-old from Salisbury, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
