THE Stoma Care Department at Salisbury District Hospital (SDH) has been recognised for the quality of service it provides to people with a stoma by the Colostomy Association.
The hospital has been nominated for the charity’s Purple Iris Award – a twoyearly award for outstanding stoma care and exemplary service within a Stoma Care Department or community setting.
The nomination for SDH praises the Stoma Care team for their willingness to provide as much help and support as needed as well as their close links with local Stoma support groups.
Other hospitals nominated for the Purple Iris Award include Princess Elizabeth Hospital in Guernsey, Maidstone Hospital and Aberdeen Royal Hospital.
The winner of the award will be revealed at the Colostomy Association’s 10th anniversary celebrations in Reading this July
